The Heart of The Studio

After introducing the story behind our name, we wanted to share how our studio actually works — how ideas move from sketch to site, and how collaboration fuels everything we do.

Meraki Architects is a small team by design. Founded in 2018, the studio is made up of four dedicated individuals — including our principal — who wear many hats, roll up their sleeves, and stay engaged in every aspect of the process.

Being small gives us freedom:
➤ Freedom to be hands-on with every detail.
➤ Freedom to build real relationships with our clients.
➤ Freedom to adapt, question, and rethink when needed — without red tape.

We’re not built on hierarchy or titles. Everyone contributes, everyone learns, and everyone is heard. Conversations happen across the table, not up the chain. Ideas are shared openly — sometimes in the form of a well-worn sketchpad, sometimes mid-discussion.

We believe mentorship isn’t just about training — it’s about investing. We take time to explain why things work the way they do, not just how. Whether we’re reviewing a detail, navigating a field issue, or exploring a new code interpretation, we do it together — because that’s how we all grow.

That said, we know when to reach beyond our own walls. Meraki has also ventured into the vast landscape of collaboration. We maintain a trusted collaboration with a fellow architecture firm, Lobas Architects. That partnership allows us to scale thoughtfully when needed, while staying grounded in the values that define Meraki: care, communication, and craftsmanship.

This is how we work — and why we love the way we work.

Design with heart. Build with intention. Collaborate with purpose.
