Project Spotlight: Lutheran East High School

Architecture has the power to reshape not just how a building looks — but how it’s perceived, experienced, and remembered.

At Lutheran East High School, we were brought in to lead a major exterior renovation that would modernize the building’s identity while supporting the school’s continued growth. Rather than starting from scratch, we focused on transformation through clarity, proportion, and materiality.

The centerpiece of the design is a new curtain wall system, replacing dated glazing with a streamlined, transparent façade that enhances both aesthetics and function. The result is a more inviting, secure, and light-filled environment — a visible reflection of the school’s commitment to its students, faculty, and future.

Additional updates to the existing exterior created a cohesive, contemporary envelope that improves thermal performance and elevates the school’s presence in the community.

At Meraki Architects, we believe in design that’s personal, intentional, and lasting. This project is a great example of what can happen when thoughtful renovation meets purpose-driven architecture — not only preserving a building’s legacy, but strengthening it for years to come.
